Pakistan International Airlines intends to rent out its three properties at Amsterdam on ‘as it is where it is basis’. You might remember a fake video circulating a few months ago where a man was referring to one of the offices and claimed PIA was paying rent for these properties. PIA owns these 3 properties that were not utilised by the airline as PIA stopped flying to Holland many years ago.
The properties that are part of this latest advert are on the following addresses.
- 17, Leidsestraat 1017 NT Amsterdam – Area 275 Square Meter
- 109 Abcoude Konings Varwem, Amsterdam – Area 600 Square Meter
- APT 835 Van Neijienrodeweg, Amsterdam – Area 95 Square Meter

PIA has requested interested parties to send their offers in a sealed envelope to the office of Pakistan International Airlines, 60 Boulevard De Strasbourg 75010, Paris or Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 8 Amalia Straat, The Hague, Netherlands along with 5% as earnest money (Refundable) of the monthly rent bid amount.
Offers must reach on or before 16 July 2019 at 11:00 am, which will be opened at 03:00 p.m on the next day i.e. 17 July 2019 at the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 8 Amalia Straat, The Hague, Netherlands, in presence of parties who wish to appear.
PIA suspended its flights to Amsterdam in the last quarter of 2013 as the route was not getting proper attention. The airline was facing a severe shortage of aircraft as it was coming out of the worst days under PPP government where its fleet shrunk to just 18 aircraft. Initially, it was part of fleet rationalisation but later on the resumption of flights never materialised and PIA signed a codeshare agreement on the route with Etihad.
According to PIA spokesperson, PIA Booking office in Amsterdam is owned by the airline. According to PIA, the airline has a business licence and has tax free income. PIA will have to pay 40 to 50 per cent tax in case the airline decides to rent out its office building in Amsterdam. According to sources in PIA, the airline intends to resume operating flights to a number of its currently closed destinations in Europe and that’s why the airline is keeping its office in Amsterdam.
