PIA starts flying direct to Slalah in Oman

PIA senior management seeing off passangers on its inaugural flight.

PIA’s inaugural flight to Salalah Oman, PK-235, was operated today from Lahore. The flight took off at 12.30PM PST. PIA will operate flights on Lahore-Salalah-Lahore sector twice a week every Thursday and Sunday.

Upon arrival PIA’s A320 with registration AP-BLU flew passngers from Lahore to its destination where they were warmly welcomed by local authorities. The Aircraft received water salute upon arrival. A welcome ceremony was also arranged at the VIP lounge which was attended by notables of Oman government, civil aviation as well as Pakistan’s Ambassador and PIA officials.

PIA is already operating to Muscat and with this additional twice weekly flights to Salalah PIA is catering to number of Pakistanis who have to endure long journey of hours to reach Salalah. Up till now, they have had to bear a 14-hour journey to Muscat by road and at least four hours of wait to catch a flight to Pakistan.
