Business class seats on PIA hajj flights for only elderly passengers

PIACL management in a meeting with the newly appointed advisor to PM.

Government of Pakistan has decided that Pakistan International Airline will not exercise discretionary powers to allot business class seats to the favourite or influential passengers during Hajj flights. And this year as a change these seats will be allotted to senior citizens and aged-pilgrims. By this decision, senior citizens could get benefits of extra facilities without additional charges instead of the influential people.

This was decided in a high level meeting chaired by Advisor to PM on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan for the current Hajj flight operation. Federal Secretary for Aviation Irfan Elahi, senior PIA officials were also present in the meeting. The participants deliberated over the suggestions given to improve facilities for the pilgrims during Hajj flights.

In the meeting the minister directed the PIA Chief Commercial Officer to ensure to establish complaint cells at all airports and address the problems of the pilgrims while active officials should be appointed for 24 hours service at these help lines and record must be maintained for all these efforts to address the complaints.
