Srilankan Airlines has recently switched their ground handling service provider and Royal Airport Services has secured the game. Royal airport service has risen out of the shadows to become one of the biggest airport service providers. Srilankan Airkines recently started flying to Lahore after its subsidiary Minhin Lanka seized operations and was merged into Srilankan Airlines. Previously ground handling services provider for the airlines was Gerrys Dnata, but this has changed now.
According to the schedule Srilankan Airlines switched their services from 1st of September 2017 which includes passenger handling, flight operations, cargo handling and refueling.
But on the other hand Royal Airport services have lost their major client Etihad Airways, although their website still shows Etihad as their. Liner. It looks like Gerrys Dnata and Royal Airport Services swapped their businesses as Srilankan Joins Royal Airport services and Etihad is ending their contract with Royal Airport Services and about to go in business with Gerrys Dnata.
Gerrys Dnata is currently serving ten scheduled airlines in Pakistan including Emirates and Turkish airlines while Royal Airport Services having two major operators as their clients i.e. Qatar airways and Etihad Airways. And their clients include Oman Air, Gulf Air, Cargolux and Omani low cost airline Salam Air. With Srilankan Airlines joining the league Royal Airport Services is currently serving nine airlines including scheduled nonscheduled and charter operators.
Gerrys Dnata is considered as the largest ground handling services provider with over more than fifteen scheduled and nonscheduled operators including cargo operators.
