Peshawar’s Bacha Khan international airport is going to be closed for wide-body aircraft as the airport’s sole runway is being repaired. Due to this necessary maintenance work, PIA and other airlines have rescheduled or cancelled their flight to Peshawar.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan International Airlines few of its flights between 31 May 2018 to 5 June 2018. On 1st June PIA flight PK354 from Karachi to Peshawar will now land at Islamabad International while return flight PK353 will depart from Islamabad instead of Peshawar. PK375 from Peshawar to Jeddah will now depart from Islamabad international airport. While PK376 from Jeddah to Peshawar will now land at Islamabad International Airport on 2nd June.
Currently, PIA, Shaheen and Emirates operate wide-body aircraft for Peshawar flights. It is important to mention that that airport terminal was recently upgraded with better facilities inside the terminal and air bridges. The runway repair work is in line with the up gradation work that this airport is going through.
