PIA sacked 900 employees for disciplinary issues, all of them reinstated

Why Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) does not hold people to account is a question you often hear. But here is a clear example of what happens when PIA does take action. PIA terminated various employees from their posts following several accusations including fake degree, fraud and absence. But one way or the other they found themselves back into PIA after getting stay orders from various courts.

PIA sacked at least 388 employees after finding out they had a fake degree while 94 employees were sacked over forgery and fraud. All in all 900 PIA employees have taken a stay order from various courts and National Industrial Relation Commission. These employees belong to various departments including engineering, finance, flight service and other departments. Some of the biggest names include Nayyar Hayat who was removed twice from his position as CFO but he is still running the show as we write this.

Out of these many employees were not even performing their duties but they were receiving their salaries. And this way taxpayers are forced to bear the burden of such employees due to legal complications. The legal department is currently served or supported by at least “60 lawyers”. However, the cases are not followed properly and these sacked employees find them back in the airline.
