Pakistan’s first TPRI license recipient will be Aircraft Sales & Services (Pvt.) Limited

Aircraft Sales & Services (Pvt.) Limited (ASSL) is the most experienced charter company in Pakistan since 1976.

Government of Pakistan has decided to issue first TPRI (First Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration) licences to Aircraft Sales and Services (Pvt.) Ltd. This licence will be granted on 6th January 2020 in an official ceremony. Federal Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Thursday revealed this information.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that M/S Aircraft Sales and Services (Pvt.) Ltd. (ASSL) has completed the formalities for the start of TPRI operations. The Company intends to commence its Tourism Promotion flights with three aircraft fleet including Beech – 1900 D, Cessna F-406 and King Air 250. The company is expected to induct two additional larger aircraft (i.e. 02 Embraer E-145 with a seating capacity of 50 each) in the near future.

The company will operate from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad as hub stations with flights to Gawadar, Turbat, Moen-jo-Daro, Gilgit and Skardu. Federal Minister said that it is expected that these TPRI operations would facilitate the locals and foreigners to explore Pakistan through safe and comfortable air transport.

In view of the foregoing and upon completion of all requirements and procedures, Mr Hassan Nasir Jamy, Secretary Aviation / Director General Civil Aviation Authority, has approved the award of the first Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration License to

M/S Aircraft Sales and Services. The License Award Ceremony is scheduled to be held at Margalla Hotel, Islamabad on 6th January 2020 at 1500 hours. Mr Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Minister for Aviation shall be the Chief Guest for the occasion. Mr Akbar Rahim Jaffer, Chief Executive Officer ASSL will receive the TPRI License from the Honorable Minister for Aviation.

ASSL has a state of the art office and facilities at its headquarters at the General Aviation Area, Jinnah International Airport where it has its own Hangar, Spare Parts Stores, Training Center, Operations Room, Battery Shops, Avionics Workshop and General Aviation Maintenance Shop.

What is ASSL?

ASSL was first established as a separate entity as” Agricultural Aviation (Private) Limited –(AAL) in 1971. The main function was to carry out aerial spray for agriculture production and the company did extensive aerial spray in Pakistan from 1972 to 1978. Thereafter, the company performed various aerial spray activity nationally and internationally until 1987, when the requirement of the aerial survey came to an end.

In 1975, ASSL was formally established and commenced its Air Charter activities in 1979 with Piper Seneca (PA -28-151) and Piper Seneca –II Aircraft (PA-34-200T). Two more Piper Seneca III aircraft were also inducted in ASSL fleet.

Following these, a twin Engine Turboprop Air-conditioned Cessna Caravan II F-406 was later inducted in 1997. Subsequently a Pressurized Air –conditioned Twin Engine Turbo Prop Beechcraft 1900C was inducted in July 2003 and another TurboProp Beechcraft 1900 D was inducted in December 2008. Also, an executive category Fokker F-27-500 Aircraft was inducted in 2006 and later phased out. Due to the increasing demand for charter operation, we included another Turbo Prop Beech 1900D in our fleet recently.
