Pakistan International Airlines is planning to operate special flights to Algeria, Khartoum, Nairobi, Jeddah, Oman, Zurich, Amsterdam and Turkey. According to spokesperson PIA Abdullah Hafeez, the flights will be operated from next week.

According to Abdullah Government of Pakistan was tasked by PIA to start additional flights on sectors from which they were reports that a number of Pakistanis are still stranded and needs to be brought back. Consequently, PIA has planned to operate new special flights commencing from next week from Algeria, Khartoum, Nairobi, Jeddah, Oman, Zurich, Amsterdam and Turkey to rescue stranded Pakistanis on these locations.
PIA is already operating relief flights to London, Birmingham, Manchester, Toronto, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur since April 03, 2020. In the past few weeks, PIA also went to destinations which were not part of PIA’s regular flight network such as Chengdu in China, Dushanbe in Tajikistan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Baku in Azerbaijan, Baghdad in Iraq and Trabzon in Turkey. From this week, PIA will be operating its first-ever flight to Seoul in South Korea and touching the Australian continent by operating to Melbourne.
Spokesperson of PIA has also confirmed that people who have confirmed tickets and could not travel due to flight restrictions will now be re-accommodated on these upcoming flights. In view of that, he has urged all such passengers to immediately contact PIA Call Centre and get their Pakistan Contact numbers registered with them. This will be used in case there are any changes, confirmations or cancellations.
Spokesperson PIA also said that there was adverse feedback on fares of PIA, which though were unfortunate but were based on the high cost of operations. However, in the past few days, PIA has brought down its fares which according to PIA is after intervention from CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik. But it is also worth mentioning that tickets were reduced in the UK sector after Qatar Airways decided to fly for £525 one way. According to Abdullah Hafeez, new fares are already updated in the system.
