Pakistan International Airlines has operated a special flight to Amsterdam to repatriate stranded Pakistanis from Islamabad. The airline sent its Boeing 777-200LR to Amsterdam as PK8733 early in the morning. The flight will return after around 2 hours back to Islamabad, taking stranded Pakistanis in the Netherlands with it. This is one of the few special flights PIA has operated in the previous days.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the Netherlands Shujjat Ali Rathore saw off 56 stranded Pakistanis from Schipol International Airport Amsterdam on 6 May 2020.

The flight brought 56 stranded Pakistanis from Amsterdam. Passengers included 35 Pakistanis stranded in the Netherlands, 16 in Belgium, 1 in Switzerland, 2 in Hungary, and 2 from Germany. A tweet from Zaheer Janjua Pakistan’s ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union mentioned that 16 Pakistanis stranded in Belgium also left on the same special flight from Amsterdam.

On the other hand, the flight brought stranded Dutch citizens from Pakistan to Amsterdam. Dutch ambassador in Islamabad Wouter Plomp tweeted photos from Islamabad international airport where Dutch embassy staff came to see off stranded citizens on their flight to Amsterdam.
