Pakistan International Airlines has announced that Pakistani stranded in Kyrgyzstan can buy their tickets for special PIA flights from any PIA office in Pakistan. PIA is selling these one way tickets for 450 US dollars. According to PIA the tickets will be issued on first come first serve basis. PIA has already operated 4 special flights to Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek and has brought over 500 stranded Pakistanis home. Today on 19th June PIA operated two special flights from Lahore to Bishkek bringing home over 280 passengers.

Pakistan embassy in Bishkek posted the following on their Facebook page. “To facilitate the community and to avoid inconvenience to the public by waiting in long queues and filling registration forms, the Pakistan International Airline, on the recommendation of this Mission, has started direct booking at its offices all over Pakistan. The students as well as community members are advised to ask their families or friends back in Pakistan to approach any of PIA offices for booking of tickets. Further, the students may not visit the embassy for the purpose of booking tickets as the Embassy is not assigning any priority to students or providing any list to PIA. The bookings are entertained by PIA on first come first serve basis.”

Earlier PIA operated two special flights PK9251-52 and PK9253-54 using its airbus A320s on 17 June. PIA deployed Airbus A320 AP-BLS for the first flight PK9251, 52, and AP-BLY for PK9253,54. 142 passengers came back on this first flight and 153 came back on the second flight. PIA aim to operate dozens of flights in coming days until every stranded Pakistani is brought home.

After waiting for months the government of Pakistan approved special flights for Bishkek. Initially, two flights were announced but due to high demand, PIA decided to operate 4 special flights to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The second phase of flights will be operated on 19 June on the reportedly Lahore Bishkek Lahore route. PIA has fixed the fare at $450 per person for these special flights.
