Saudi Arabia has suspended all international commercial passenger flights to and from the kingdom for a week. This action is taken after the press conference by British Prime Minister Boris Jhonson who reported about the appearance of a new mutated strain of coronavirus in a number. A number of European countries have since stopped flights to and from the there United Kingdom. The Kingdom has also decided to close its land as sea borders. However, the foreign flights that are currently in the Kingdom are allowed to leave.

A tweet retweeted by the official account of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation stated: “an official source in the Ministry of Interior: The Kingdom decides to suspend all international flights for travelers – except in exceptional cases – temporarily for a week, which may be extended for another week”.

The suspension of international flights will only have an exception for emergency cases. The suspension can be extended by one more week, according to the source.
