The government of Pakistan with the view to curb the spread of the COVID-19 disease in Pakistan has placed restrictions on all inbound passengers travelling from the UK. This restriction applies to all passengers who are either travelling directly or indirectly to Pakistan. The government of Pakistan has termed this restriction as temporary.
Air Commodore Irfan Sabir who is director air transport and economic regulations at Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority issued the directive on Monday. The restriction is effective from December 23, 2020, 0000 hours up to December 30, 2020, 0000 hours. This restriction will also apply to all persons who originate travel from the UK, are in or have been in the UK over the course of the last 10 days.
Passengers originating travel from destinations other than the UK, transiting through the UK and not leaving the terminal airside in a UK airport will be allowed to travel into Pakistan.
Pakistani Passport Holders who have travelled to the UK on visitor / temporary visas will be allowed to return to Pakistan but there are conditions.
They must produce a negative COVID19 test result that is performed with 72 hours of departure for Pakistan.
Their COVID19 test will be taken by the Central Health Establishment at the airport and for that, the passenger will be required to either stay inside the airport premises or in a government facility until the test is performed. Meaning the passenger can not leave the premises until a test is conducted.
After the test is conducted the passenger is sent home where he must quarantine for a period of 7 days.
Trace and Test for all passengers who have arrived from the UK over the period of the last 7 days as per TTQ protocol including passengers arriving on December 21 and 22, 2020.

The Government says these “stipulated measures are temporary measures being implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan and may be reviewed in the form of further extension or otherwise by the Competent Authority at an appropriate time”.
