Pakistan International Airlines is starting two flights a week to Xi,an in Shaanxi province. The flights will start tomorrow, November 6, and PIA will deploy a Boeing 777 for these flights that will be flying from Islamabad. Xi’an is a large city and capital of Shaanxi Province in central China. Once known as Chang’an (Eternal Peace), it marks the Silk Road’s eastern end and was home to the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties’ ruling houses.

PIA only flew to Beijing in recent years and competed with Air China on the route. But on the other routes most dominant player is China Southern Airlines that fly from Guangzhou and Urumqi. Historically Shaheen Air has also operated one flight a week to Guangzhou.
