Kam Air advertising flights between Mazar e Sharif and Islamabad

Afghanistan’s largest and only private airline Kam Air has advertised flights between the northern city of Mazar e Sharif. But actually, it is an advertisement for its Kabul-Islamabad flights with a connection. Kam Air operates 5 weekly flights between Islamabad and Kabul and now it connects those flights on Wednesdays and Thursdays with one and half hour transfers in Kabul. For these flights tickets could be bought for the whole journey and boarding passes are issued for the whole journey.

Just like this passengers can buy tickets from Herat for Kam Air’s Wednesday flight to Islamabad with 2 hours transfer time in Kabul. PIA stopped flights to Kabul due to insurance issues and now both Afghan airlines have a monopoly over this route where an average ticket for the 45-minute flight is double to the price of a two-hour flight between Karachi and Islamabad.

There are weekly 3 flights between Kabul and Mazar. And one weekly flight between Herat and Kabul. Kam Air currently has 12 international destinations. It operates flights to Istanbul and Ankara, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Jeddah, Islamabad, Delhi, Tehran, and Tashkent. The airline has a fleet of 7 aircraft including 3 widebody Airbus A340-300s and 4 Boeing 737 family aircraft, three 737-300s, and one 737-500. Apart from passenger operations it also provides cargo facilities.
