The ruling Pakistan Muslim League N senator & former federal minister Mushahidullah Khan used PIA resources to avail free accommodation in London. The senator who is also chairman of senate’s special committee on PIA stayed as PIA staff and off course he did not pay for his travel or his accommodation. These revelations were made in an ARY News report but many insiders have been pointing to the malpractices of the said senator from last few months.

The senator was in London to undergo some medical treatment and while he was in London for 7 days he stayed in Marriott Maida Vale, a hotel used by PIA for its crew accommodation on PIA’s expense.

The worst part of this whole story is that Mushaidullah received Rs. 1.95 million as medical expenses from the government. We have yet to see if Mr. Mushahidullah paid back the money to PIA for his travel and accommodation bills. It is no secret that Mr. Mushahidullah’s brother is a PIA station manager at the London Heathrow airport. His other family members including brother have been employees in PIA.

Mr. Mushahidulah is always seen lecturing PIA staff in senate’s special committee on PIA about morals, ethics and above all transparency. But when it comes to walk the talk we can list a whole number if items that have direct affect in what ails PIA. A person with such clear conflict of interest is allowed to work as chairman of senate’s special committee on PIA baffles us.
