Thai Airways has added a 5th weekly flight to its Islamabad Bangkok route after PIA decided to withdraw flights on Islamabad Kuala Lumpur route. In the past PIA stopped flying to Bangkok and as a result Thai airways currently has monopoly over this route. Currently Thai Airways books operates 4 flights a week on Islamabad Bangkok route. At the same time it will fly to Lahore on daily basis while a 5th flight will be added to Karachi Bangkok route. This shows a huge increase in Pakistani passengers who prefer to travel on this route and with no alternative choose Thai airways. Pakistani Passengers going to Far East and Australia also chose Thai Airways due to its network. Mostly tourists, business people, and students use this route.
Thai Airways is serving Pakistani market since 37 years and flying and providing a vital link to Pakistan expats in Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore and Malaysia. Thai started flying to Lahore 15 years ago and added Islamabad to its route network eight years ago.
In other news Etihad Airways has withdrawn their Abu Dhabi – Peshawar flights recently stating low demand and loads.
