Pakistan International Airlines is going to bring back around 300 stranded passengers from Guangzhou, China. This step was taken after Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority stopped Shaheen air from operating a special flight. PIA has offered its services after the battle between CAA and Shaheen resulted in the further suffering of passengers. A video sent to Pakistan Aviation by passengers stranded in a Guangzhou showed passengers pleading to the government to reign in the corrupt elements in CAA. The flight by Shaheen was supposed to fly to Guangzhou on Friday but Shaheen air claims that “CAA raised a technical issue with the aircraft at the last minute which will cause severe inconvenience for the passengers.”

Shaheen’s Director marketing Zohaib Hassan in a statement said that “the management of Shaheen and CAA held a meeting on Saturday afternoon where it was decided to request PIA to bring back the passengers on commercial terms.”
On the other hand, PIA spokesperson Mashood Tajwar confirmed that PIA is finalizing flight plan to bring back stranded Pakistanis from China. CEO Musharraf Rasool Cyan has instructed to arrange a special flight in this regard.” PIA operates 4 weekly flights to Beijing, China that could be used to bring back the passengers via either Beijing or directly from Guangzhou, China.
Zohaib Hassan thanked CAA and PIA for their support and help in sorting out this issue. But there is no information about the continuity of Shaheen flights to Guangzhou anytime soon.
