Pakistan bans travel to and from 6 African countries and Hong Kong due to the COVID19 variant “omicron”

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has banned travel to and from 6 African countries and Hong Kong. Due to the emergence of the latest COVID19 variant “Omicron,” Pakistan has imposed a complete ban on travel from these African countries to Pakistan. The countries include

  • South Africa
  • Hong Kong
  • Mozambique
  • Namibia
  • Lesotho
  • Eswatini
  • Botswana

PCAA has said that any Pakistani traveling from these countries can only enter Pakistan only in extreme emergency circumstances and that will only be allowed after they seek exemptions. However, the government has allowed any stranded Pakistanis to travel from these countries without exemption till December 5.
