Pakistan International Airlines has started direct flights between Turbat and Quetta, capital of Balochistan province. PIA will operate two flights a week using its ATR42-500 aircraft. The first flight was operated on the 10th of December. PIA operates to almost all airports in Balochistan but this is the first flight within the province after many years. These flights will immensely help the passengers who have to travel by road for all sorts of works in Quetta from Gawadar, Jewani and Turbat.

Balochistan is the largest province in Pakistan which has a huge area and connectivity is a huge issue. The province has many airfields and airports and some of them are actively connected by PIA. Quetta is the largest airport in the province and it is also an international airport. After Quetta Gawadar and Turbat are two airports that have handled international traffic. PIA has operated international flights to Muscat and Sharjah.

Other airports in Balochistan are Panjgur, Zhob and Dalbandin where PIA has operated flights in the past. Other airfields in Balochistan are Sui, Pasni, Jiwani, Khuzdar, Sibi, and Ormara. Some of these airfields are currently used by Pakistan Military forces like Navy and Army. PIA and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority also shares some of these airbases with the military.
