Turkish Airlines has announced that it will begin requiring passengers on overseas flights to submit negative PCR tests as of Dec. 30. The company shared this announcement on its official social media accounts. The requirement will come into effect from 30th December 2020. These negative PCR coronavirus test results must be sampled a maximum of 72 hours prior to their flight as of Dec. 30. Passengers who fail to provide a negative PCR test will be not be allowed to board the plane. This applies to passengers over 6 years old and it will remain effective until March 1.
Earlier on Friday 25th December, Turkish Airlines said the procedure would begin on Dec. 28. Turkey temporarily banned flights from the U.K., Denmark, the Netherlands and South Africa due to a fast-spreading new strain of the coronavirus. On Wednesday flights between Turkey and the Netherlands resumed, while the ban is still in place on flights from the rest.
