Airblue has acquired 3 Airbus A320 aircrafts from the Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet. Just a few days ago PIA sent back 4 A320 aircrafts that were with the airline for 6 months on wet lease terms. As Pakistan’s current aviation policy only allows airlines to wet-lease planes for a period of 3 months we assume these aircrafts will remain with Airblue for up to 6 months. VN-A650, VN-A655 and VN-A656 89 landed at Jinnah Terminal, Karachi today from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City. Airblue has acquired these planes to coup with the scheduled maintenance effects on its current fleet. As the airline’s current fleet will be going for routine maintenance, these wet leased aircrafts will fill the gap. The three examples are much younger than the four examples PIA used and all three equipped with Sharklets that reduces fuel costs by up to four percent and increases mission range by up to 100 nautical miles.
Here are more details about the three planes.
