Pakistan’s second-largest airline is poised to start direct flights to Skardu as it operates a test flight between Islamabad and Skardu. In August last year, Airblue announced its plan to start summer flights between Skardu and Islamabad. Gilgit-Baltistan’s Minister for Tourism, Raja Nasir Ali Khan broke the news when he said “Airblue is likely to start flights for Skardu from mid of August.” Although he jumped the gun given the way Airblue works where simple decisions take months if not years to materials.

So today’s test flight is another step in the right direction and the flights start end of June.
