A Pakistani Haji has posted a series of videos on Facebook showing the plight of passengers of flight SV706 from Madina to Karachi. According to the video the temperature control system on the Boeing 777-200 was not working properly. As a result several passengers felt suffocation onboard. It is important to note that during the 3 hour flight, the temperature reached about 32°C with a high level of humidity. Several passengers had to lay in the aisles of the aircraft and many others were seen using the cards and papers in an attempt to refresh them. The Haji Muhammad Noman Yaqoob wrote that “the worst part of this whole episode is that the flight didn’t divert and the pilot even threatened to take action against passengers if they didn’t remain seated”. The flight was delayed for over 2 hours as its departure time was 1.35PM Saudi time. The passenger claims that the plane was in bad shape from inside and as soon as he entered it was already hot. He also claims that several passengers became unconscious and in the video you can see people lying on the floor.

You can watch the video here and here and more on the profile of Noman Yaqoob.

Here is full status of the passenger from his Facebook post “Flight SV 706 Saudi Airlines flight from Medinah to Karachi was a disasters experience we all passengers ever had . The flight was already delayed 3.5hrs . The more serious issue was the A.C (Air conditioners) was not working and due to that 6 passengers got fainted and 2 were about to. Really upset from this irresponsible attitude specially for Hujaj.”
