Another Saudi private airline Flynas is planning to restart flights to Pakistan this year. The airline is planning to resume flights to Lahore and Islamabad. Flynas (طيران ناس) formerly Nas Air, is a domestic and international low-cost airline based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and it is country’s first budget airline.
The airline is going to resume flights on Dammam-Lahore, Riyadh-Lahore and Riyadh-Islamabad Sectors. According to information available with Pakistan Aviation, the airline will use 2 types of aircraft for this operation.
Airbus A320 aircraft will be used on Dammam-Lahore, Riyadh-Lahore and Riyadh-Islamabad sector whereas the airline intends to start Jeddah-Lahore operations with Boeing 767 Aircraft.
The airlines intend to start the services in February 2018. And the first flight will be operated on 1st February 2018 between Dammam-Lahore with Airbus A320 equipment. Other routes are expected to start on 15th February 2018 between Riyadh-Lahore, Riyadh-Islamabad & Jeddah-Lahore.
Flynas earlier suspended its operation to Pakistan in the fourth quarter of 2014 to Pakistan by withdrawing from Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore routes. The relaunch of Flynas will give passengers a cheap option to fly to Saudi Arabia routes at competitive fares.
Nas Air was founded in 2007. The company changed its name from Nasair to FlyNas in November 2013. Since Inception, Mr Ayed Al Jeaid has been serving as Flynas Chairman. Currently, Bander Al Mohanna serves as CEO of Nas Holding while Paul Byrne serves as CEO of Flynas.
As of October 2014, Flynas was owned in its majority by National Airline Services Holding (63%); the balance was held by Kingdom Holding. The airline placed an order for 120 brand new A320 NEO aircraft with Airbus at a list value of US$8.6 billion. Flynas has a fleet of 28 aircraft, operating over 1000 scheduled flights every week to 17 destinations within Saudi Arabia and 53 international destinations.
