After the sudden death of ameer of the Tableeghi Jamaat Haji Abdul Wahab airlines operating on domestic routes are under severe pressure to accommodate the extra demand. There are hundreds of passengers who are trying to catch a flight from Karachi as well as from many other destinations to reach Lahore. National flag carrier PIA deployed its biggest aircraft (seat wise) with over 450 seats on Karachi to Lahore route.

PIA’s Boeing 777-300 ER registration AP-BMS operated PK304 in the morning taking 450 plus passengers to Lahore. On the other hand, passengers at Karachi airport were seen scrambling for flights to Sialkot and even Faisalabad in order to reach Lahore. So far Airblue and Serene air are sticking to their scheduled flights and have not deployed any extra capacity.

Haji Abdul Wahab passed away in Lahore on Sunday at the age of 95 after a battle with dengue. He had been admitted to Doctors’ Hospital for the past few days after being afflicted with dengue. He also suffered from asthma and was put on life support yesterday.

His funeral prayer was held at the Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtamagah after Maghrib prayers today.
