From past few days, a lot of people have complained about the chaos and mismanagement that is going on at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal international airport that is one of the busiest airports in the country. It was amplified when former cricketer Ramiz Raja tweeted about it complaining to the prime minister Imran Khan by tagging him. A lot of this has to do with the new rules about mobile phones that are adding to the misery of travellers.

Ramiz Raja in his tweet said “airports are the face of the nation and Lahore Airport is the worst representation of its denizens. From entry to exit, it’s a tortuous & dehumanising experience. 1 entry door to let in hundreds of passengers & hundreds to welcome, hundreds coming out of 1 exit point! @ImranKhanPTI.”

And Ramiz Raja was not alone in complaining about the chaos a traveller Kumail Abbas tweeted

Last night(21/12/18)
This is how Lahore Airport puts a first impression. Worst management, no sense of baggage handling, no trained staff.@AirportPakistan @ShehryarAfridi1 pic.twitter.com/CMSiKNWgxH

Hassan Malik who went to pick his parents complained about the attitude of Airport Security Force.

Does Pakistan ASF has the right to be unprofessional? Being youth of this Pakistan & bringing back parents and feeling embarrassed at Lahore airport made a big mistake to return back to Pakistan. We need insaf! #PTIGovt @ImranKhanPTI

Bilal Maqsood shared two pictures of the immigration hall where there were long queues and as expected no queue management system in place. He tweeted “I landed Lahore airport on 7th December and there were 2 flights landing together… It was chaos and mess at immigration counters… Then after an hour of struggle, the same happened in the luggage area to collect baggage. Saudi Airlines flight- Riyadh to Lahore.”

Sohail Goraya said “Absolutely right; Lahore AirPort is complete mayhem. And to make it even worse people make it one of the dirtiest airports by throwing garbage and filth where ever they feel like.”

Here is a video of how the baggage handler was treating the bags.

And the chaos and mismanagement are not limited to the airport as the parking also shows no sense of organisation. It is understood that Pakistani are not the best nation when it comes to obeying traffic rules but there must be a system to manage that and bring order. Hashim shared a photo from 19 December.
