Hashoo group to host hospitality conference at PTM 2017

Pakistan’s premier hospitality group is hosting a hospitality conference at the Pakistan Travel mart 2017 in Karachi on 25th of November 2017. Hashoo Group is taking part in the PTM 2017 where it is one of the key sponsors and with the event they will be gathering industry giants to speak about the travel and hospitality industry.Pakistan’s hospitality, travel, and tourism industry are picking up and with improvement in the security situation, all the indicators are positive. The growth in travel is visible from air travel and hotel occupancy are among the top indicators of travel and travel and tourism industry growth.

With less than a million foreign tourists visiting Pakistan on an average, Pakistan has been able to improve its ranking by one point in 2017. Currently at 124 out of 136 countries covered in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index 2017 released by the World Economic Forum. The report cites the fact that the quality of tourism infrastructure got the ranking of 123 while hotel rooms got the ranking of 129.

To highlight the importance of this industry Hashoo group is organising a hospitality conference on Saturday 25th of November at Pakistan Travel Mart at Expo Center Karachi. The idea of the conference is the brainchild of the new Chief Marketing Sales and Revenue at Hashoo Group Lashley Ann Pulsipher. Lashley is a firm believer in the potential Pakistani tourism and hospitality industry holds and is trying to improve it. The conference will take into account the challenges faced by hospitality and travel industry in Pakistan.

Speaking about the hospitality conference she said “Hashoo Group is a pioneer in hospitality in Pakistan and we are committed to the development of the travel and tourism industry here. We will open several new hotels under the Pearl-Continental and Hotel One brands in 2018. The growth of the tourism industry in terms of education and innovation is important for continued success. Events like Pakistan Travel Mart provide the perfect platform for fostering growth by bringing everyone together at one event.”

There are three key sessions at the conference where the first session aptly titles “pioneers of hospitality” will speak to industry leaders like Haseeb Gardezi the Vice President operation at Hashoo Group. In the second session, “Digital Landscape of Travel and Tourism” renowned journalist Tahir Imran Mian will speak to key players in the digital arena specifically related to hospitality. The third session titled “Budget travel” will take into account the all-important budget travel sector in Pakistan.

It is important to understand that in 2017, the hospitality and travel industry continues to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people by driving growth, creating jobs, reducing poverty and fostering development and tolerance. For the sixth consecutive year, industry growth outperforms that of the global economy, showcasing the industry’s resilience in the face of global geopolitical uncertainty and economic volatility.
